The extra $$ was well worth it in the custom cabinets. This tough hickory will last forever and the natural variance in the wood is stunning! While my friends knotty alder cabinets are showing wear and easily denting, mine still look like new and if I ever want to stain them another color it will be easy, but their natural beauty is so lovely I hate to cover it.

The kitchen has lots of breathing room, even when all eight of us are in it cooking!

I love the open feeling in what I call "the gathering area." With the dining table, fold-out table, buffet table, and card table we have had quite the gatherings with room to feed all.


The kitchen had to be perfect since I'm in it more than any other room!

Truly Unique!

The kids never have to fight over a sink and with the shower and toilet separate we managed to accommodate our brood of eight!


Being able to run my business from home has been great especially since it has its own entrance, bathroom, and is wheelchair accessible. It could even be used for an apartment with its own entrance since it has two parking stalls also.


This is THE funnest house to decorate at Christmastime!


The two-story vault allows for some pretty impressive Christmas trees.

I loved hand picking the unique slate for the gas fireplace. I love having fire in a snap!
Custom hickory cabinets, tile and open bayed-dining that leads out onto a huge deck make it a great home for entertaining.

The stylish his and hers medicine cabinets were on of my favorite additions, and what can be better for a marriage than two sinks and a separate room for the toilet! The jetted tub has also been quite enjoyable.

The adjustable "mood lighting" has been great for when I want to stay up and read, and I don't even have to get out of bed to shut off the light!



The clubhouse has been a favorite spot for Hunter and friends.

I love the open feel of the country setting. Having great neighbors is the best!

Last fall I finished planting the rest of the hill with delicious strawberries.

Great detail went into the building of our home. We customized everything adding a special Christmas Light Circuit with one switch to turn on all the outside lights. Hunter picked out his favorite crystals to bury in the walls and we spent days putting in beautiful and easy to clean tile. My parents flew out from Nauvoo, IL to help and spent long days and sleepless nights creating a lovely dream. It was one of the last projects my father enjoyed before a massive stroke stole the use of his left side. One day while wiring the home he said, "You'll be moving in 5 years." I told him I would never move from my beautiful home. It is 5 years this month, and a "For Sale" sign now adorns our circular drive. What did he know....

Labor of Love

We stood in our garden plot and knew we would not be there to harvest if we planted. We were moving. We felt it. But why were we being drawn north? For reason that we would later understand, we were inspired to move to Rexburg. It is a lovely place with a real sense of community and everything you could possibly need without the congestion of the big city. We found the perfect plot in a friendly subdivision with a country feel just 10 minutes outside town. It promised plenty of room to run and spectacular sunsets.
